Synthesia Music Making

Hi!

I'd like to talk a bit on the Synthesia music that I've been making.

There's alot of people making synthesia music out there, and they're all really amazing. Really. The effects they add in is simply mind blowing. Even I struggle to make the effects that I have now, and they're not even impressive! Rosseau and Patrick, even Funguypiano make amazing videos with their editor, and I don't even know how to do it.

But there's one thing that people can go about using synthesia that bugs me a bit. Since Synthesia is a 'digital player', it will be able to play all the shenanigans that you give it through the MIDI file. This makes people write out insanely difficult pieces to play, hoping that it'll be awesome.

YES, IT WILL BE AWESOME, BECAUSE ITS NOT YOU WHO IS PLAYING!

Synthesia simply reads the instructions and signals put in place within the MIDI file, and of course being a digital reader, it WILL read ALL the instructions. Whether or not it is physically feasible by a player is and never will be Synthesia's concerns. This essentially makes the guy making the Synthesia music not any better a musician himself, but a mixer instead.

How I make my Synthesia tutorials are rather time consuming, because I write + play the the piece first, removing any parts that I cannot physically execute. That concludes the initial part. THEN, when the playing is over, I edit the sheets again to how it was played, or make it better with more accurate notes. This omits any impossible-to-play parts.

This becomes quite taxing especially when I'm occupied with other work that needs my attention. But, I always strive to improve. My goal right now is to continually research on how to include more amazing visuals on Synthesia, and once more get that satisfaction of learning something new.

Those channels that overlay the Synthesia part AND their LIVE playing once are simply the best. I really want to do so like them too!

Anyways, here's the video for this posting. It's the Synthesia Tutorial for Eternal City My Days OP by Konomi Suzuki. If you'd like the sheets, comment in YouTube how and where I should send it =)

Hope you guys enjoy it!
