Recording Mishaps ZZZZ

I believe those who are in video production experience a lot of mishaps during the recording or editing process. Like A LOT. Those who don't experience much difficulty in recording are clearly genius at their work and have memory of an elephant. I SALUTE YOU.

Everyone now and then, recordings can take up a lot of time if the day is not favorable for you. What looks like a simple music recording can take HOURS just to get that perfect recording.

Been there, done that, I do get annoyed when a song I wanted to make perfect is crippled by a tiny mistake. That forces a pick between 2 options: ACCEPT AND MOVE ON or RETAKE. =_='''
Can don't make my lyfe so difficult ma...
Accepting the little mistake would mean dropping your standards and hope that people won't realize the flaw in your work, while retaking would mean spending more extra time (not including edits) on a RAW recording.

I won't say that choosing either of those is bad or good. It really depends on perspective whether you want to accept that mistakes happen and no point wasting more time on an otherwise CLOSE TO PERFECT video or dedicate extra time to make it right.

Either choice would really suck, because it frustrates anyone who seeks perfection within their work. I get very mad when I just cannot get the PERFECT recording, and I would have to push the recording to a later date after I've practiced more and cooled off.

Really? Do you (the recording day) have to be so hard on me...
Sure, a simple mistake is tolerable, but not being able to get the recording that you wanted is just off putting.

With that said, I try my very best to make sure I make every recording as perfect as possible. Perhaps not being so bright a person has made me need to work very extra hard to make my work a perfection. Sigh. FeelsBadMan.

I do apologize if I screwed up any parts of my recordings. Its just that we all don't have infinite time to do everything again and again. We make the best use of time we can get our hands on. So thank you for all the support given. It means a lot to me. Hopefully one day in the future, I can actually get a recording perfect in one shot just like how my other senpais are able to.

If Only I Had Not Doubted.

Another post, another upload. As usual. =) (Long post. Please spare some time. It has a story about me.)

If Only I Had Not Doubted

The piece of music that I covered for this time is a Korean Drama called Jackpot. A drama is nothing without some cover-worthy OST, and this drama has quite a nice collection indeed. Link will be provided at the end of this post.

I wonder if you guys here have EVER looked into my channel bio and video list? If you haven't, you might have noticed a REALLY OLD VIDEO I made. In fact, it was my FIRST piano cover of a Korean Drama LOVE RAIN. An amateur's video.

Love Rain
Coincidentally, Jackpot has the very same actor in Love Rain: Jang Geun Suk. Seeing him again after SO MANY years had me thinking back of that time when I made my first ever video recording.

Back then, I didn't watch much of anything so when my friends introduced Love Rain to me because Yoona was also acting in it (YEP, IM A SONE!!), I gave it a try. The OST Love Rain caught my attention, and out of nowhere, I had the inkling to cover the piece. It was really simple, really touching and beautiful song. Maybe it was the story that made the OST stand out from the rest, and it was played at very romantic scenes, which brought out THE FEELS.

So cute couple <3
I really wanted to play it, so I started my first arrangement. At that time, my technical skills were rather limited, and I wasn't so creative. So I just went on to make the easiest arrangement possible: LEFT HAND SHALL PLAY CHORDS, RIGHT HAND SINGLE LINE MELODY.

So I practiced it, recorded it, edited some intro slides, uploaded it, and LEFT IT. Looking back, leaving the video alone after uploading it was easily one of the most REGRETFUL thing I have ever done.

Did I mention that I was a c***rd at that time? I was.

I thought I wasn't good enough to get attention because many people had already made their own covers of Love Rain on YouTube. I thought that I was just going to do it FOR FUN. I made my mind back then that once I uploaded it, I wouldn't look at it, because it was SO SIMPLE A COVER. I saw the community as one that looked for QUALITY videos. I thought mine didn't have quality due to obvious reasons. HOW WRONG I WAS.

So it was left for a good while. I ignored all comments made. ALL. Because I was too much of a coward to see that people might flame me for being so bad at piano. I was scared to be called a BAD player. When I had gathered a LOT of courage to visit the video, I was upset.

Don't jump the gun. Here are some of the comments:

Reality hit me SO HARD. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIEiF08Bt_E Watch it here.

It turned out that people actually LIKED my VIDEO. I also had 15 subscribers! I just couldn't believe it. What I thought was nothing, was actually something. After that, I just regretted my damn attitude for being such a coward.

I wonder, if only I had not doubted myself, would my channel be bigger than it is now? Some times I would even cry silently in my own room, blaming myself for being such a CHICKEN. So immature.

To those who made the comments, I am sorry. I am sorry I didn't respond to you. I am sorry I didn't follow up with your expectations. I was a fool. I really wish I could turn back time and continue to make videos back then and let you all know me better. Right now, I can only take that as a painful lesson, and make sure I work to make QUALITY work so that I won't disappoint you all. Your support means A LOT to me PERSONALLY, and thank everyone who reads this for making me reach 3 digit subscribers last month. I PROMISE never to leave again.

Thank you for supporting me then and now. Hopefully in the future, you will still be here. Let's make it to 4 digits. THANK YOU.

With love,
-DrewyJin- (aka AndrewJH)

My Online Persona: DrewyJin

As mentioned, an update every time I upload a video.
This time will be about my name DrewyJin.

My Online Persona

Please don't mind me here... I chose to write about this not to be braggy or something. I just act to my words, and I need stuff to talk about to build up this blog. I guess there won't be much, but an update is still an update.

Initially, my online names revolved around "Andrew". Anything I could coin up with "Andrew" will do. It was left as that for quite a few years until I decided to properly initiate my channel.

To cut it short, successful businessmen and YouTubers have one thing in common: SELF BRANDING. Setting a brand for yourself is what people will remember you of. For example, if you subconsciously keep cracking up jokes, people might brand you as THE JOKER. Good or bad, it really is up to you to decide~

In simple terms, it is what business people would have to do in order to set up a business: PICK A UNIQUE NAME. After some time and searching, I really had to take in account the advise my mentors gave me as AndrewJH just wasn't cut out to be a proper brand. (Remember my last post that I mentioned "Andrew" was such a common name? Yep, it really is.)

What is with the name Andrew that makes it soooo common...

Hence, I spent days thinking of names, even asking my friends for suggestions. I'd say there were a few that looked rather interesting, but just didn't quite fulfill the criteria I wanted. After some days (or weeks), I got the idea to make use of "Andrew" and "Jin". I shortened Andrew to Drew, and remained Jin. But DrewJin just sounded flattttttttttttttttttttt. And then, I thought of something rather unique.

You see, English is such a wonderful language that you can literally make ANY word into an adjective just by adding "-y" or "-ly" at the end. In my case, since I wanted SO MUCH to make MY "Andrew" standout, VOILA, I had myself named DrewyJin.

Since then, I have changed all my socials to utilize the name DrewyJin whenever I can to establish my own "brand".

Yep. BRANDing is very important.

So if you ever want to search me out, just type in DrewyJin and you will get what you looked for.

So that's it for now. I will leave to the next upload to determine the next posting.

So below here is the upload corresponding to this posting. Check it out! America's Sweetheart by Elle King. Rock n' rolling!

Thank you for dropping by! Bye for now~
