Change of Plans

Hey all. This gonna be short.

OK. I've been thinking of changing how I am going to share my sheets and all. The way I've been doing it is by using blog. I have to upload my sheets from my hard disc, into a cloud (Google Drive, Dropbox etc...), then copy the link into blogger.

The thing is, I find it rather odd to go through so many steps just to share a file online. I'm thinking of changing to something easier, something that will save my file just as it is. IE, upload the file straight from my disc into the web. Simple and nice.

Any ideas what platforms may be better? If it really comes to it, I will share my music works on that site instead of Blog, while Blog will just be something "small" and not mainstream for sharing stuff.

So here it is, video of Jay Chou x aMEI for 不该. I've also made a Synthesia video too!

Enjoy!

Responsibilities Liberated!! Well, at least one part ....

Right. After what felt like a long while, I managed to clear out another recording, hence this posting.

A lot has happened for the past 2 weeks. There were little cuties in my house for that entire period, so I couldn't really practice my pieces nor do recordings without any sort of distractions coming in. And it was also kinda awkward to do it while they were around, because they were prone to cause some issues in the house. So gotta keep my eyes on them to help the parents.

Apart from that, I was also preparing for my music exam. It was my last sitting for it, so I wanted to make sure I was able to play it as perfect as  I could, which also took away recording time.

All that has gone now, and I can continue recording again ^^

Oh just to share it with anyone here, I just did this Facebook trend thingy about the COMMENT BELOW AND I WILL TELL YOU THIS BLA BLA BLA stuff. Now I usually don't bother to even look at such posts, but a good friend of mine posted it and since we have quite an interesting history together since primary school, I was courageous enough to comment to see what he would say. Turns out we really did share the same thoughts about each other and it was kinda funny to see how we changed ever since we left primary school lol. I won't go through the details, just too much to say.

Anyway, I shared the post and a bunch of friends hopped into the comments section. From there, I realized that this kind of random nonsense might just get you to really think why you are friends with them in the first place. =)

Perhaps you all too could try it out when your friends post those kinds of stuff. It is more of an exercise to look inside yourself and decide if anyone at all is your buddy/bro/sis/BFF etc.

Alright! That is all for now. I don't have exam pieces to practice, but I still have many other songs to learn and play. I should also level up my Battle Pass in Dota HAHAHA. Interested to play together? PM me lol. I'm not that good, but decent enough to NOT FEED lol. I also need to watch Anime! You guys watch Kabaneri of The Iron Fortress? The ending theme just sounds SO good. Maybe I should do a cover of it.. .

Here's the recording for this posting:

PS: I just realized that on my YouTube uploads, I put my Snapchat username as DrewyJin. It is my DISPLAY NAME. My username is jinhui_andrew . Add me there for I post more often there than FB, since I'm kinda shy about posting stuff on my profile. I could make a page for myself perhaps?

Oh, and this: FNATIC TAKE MY ENERGY!

Thoughts On My Path

I've probably not being on YouTube long, nor have I spent YEARS to perfect myself, but I think my time so far spent on YouTube materials has really made me think for quite a while...

Sharing materials online may be an excellent hobby, but it can potentially turn into something life changing. If people find your materials good, they will come back for more. If it's bad, people either flame you off or just ignore you.

My efforts thus far have been rather fun. Occasionally my work gets exceptional attention, while others just become "an uninteresting thing". Not that I mind but, I sometimes think how would life be if my works were significantly more appealing.

Comparing myself to other pianists, I am aware of the skill gap. People like Kyle Landry, Animenz, TheIshter, Zacky etc, have so mobile fingers as though there is an individual brain in each finger. They run the keyboard with seemingly no effort. They make arrangements that bring out the songs' emotions. They make people know the MAGIC OF MUSIC. They are just so inspiring...

Watching their videos are one of my favourite past times. I will always be so inspired by their arrangements and would be left speechless after listening and watching their greatest work.

More than the rest, watching great pianists like them puts my soul on fire to improve. I want to improve. I want to make my work appealing. I do not want to be complacent with my work. I want to develop skills that would at least be worthy to listen to. Otherwise, I would have dishonored the time I spent learning music...

I do hope to reach that level of performance. I dream to be that successful.

Anyway, here is the video corresponding to this post:
