Yi Xin Bing Piano, Comic Fiesta 2018, and other Upload Related Postings

Hi Blog. It's been a while. Truth to be told, I've totally lost the One-Video-One-Post discipline already =.= I don't even remember what I posted last time until I popped open Blogger to see the title of my last post. Well, I have some time dedicated to it right now, and I'll proceed to provide some insights as to what has happened between the long gaps of uploading contents. The sections are as follows: Food Fantasy, Chinese Orchestra, Comic Fiesta 2018, and Yi Xin Bing Piano arrangement 疑心病 by 任然. Ctrl + F to read whichever portions you're interested in. =D

Food Fantasy
Yep. Probably it's died down now, but I was in the hype of Food Fantasy a few months ago. When it came out, the first area's OST called Gloriville, instantly caught my attention so much, that I quickly learnt it before letting go my Korg back in the UK. It was ultimately the FINAL video that I made with the amazing Korg that was with me since the start of 2018 (8th of January 2018) till some time in August or July (sadly I can't remember the date, but its in my phone somewhere... I'll look for the pics)
Ahh yesss. That's my babe in the UK. Now in the hands of a young learner =)

Me and Korgi before packing Korgi.
And there he goes...
Right now, Korgi's in the hands of a young learner, and I hope she's doing well. Korgi was sold at a GOOD price for the duration I had it (less than a year old), and it also was inclusive of the stand which I bought extra too (I gave the stand for free).

Upon returning home, I continued to make Food Fantasy videos and in total I made 3 of them: Gloriville, Theme Song, and Sakurajima OSTs. You can check them out here
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxbT1Z-s0rolVXhEAGRehyTssQHpPWQuv (the bottom 3 songs) and their respective tutorial videos in this link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxbT1Z-s0rolU2Fh32rnMQ-miyNqVeKrl

Chinese Orchestra Concert
School then restarted, and I was heavily taken up by my involvement in the Chinese Orchestra. Oddly enough, I entered it due to a friend recommending me to join them, and it was indeed a fun time with them =) I had zero knowledge on other instruments, so I ended up with some percussions hehehe.  Practice time was severely affected, as the commitment to the club took up my weekends which is normally the time I spend practicing the most (and to revise my work as well). I still managed to make some sheets during that time, but productivity was rather low. But it was rather worth the investment as our concert was pulled off successfully, and I'd say everyone enjoyed themselves then.

The whole CO squad shot.

To me, I agreed on joining the team was to learn to be more IN TIME. I felt as though some of my arrangements were rather messy in terms of time keeping. So as a percussionist, you gotta keep in time so as to not break the tempo and more importantly: DONT MESS UP THE FLOW. It applies to all sort of group performances. But I've been away from group performances for a long while, and I kinda felt it was a very nice environment to learn again how to LOOK AT SHEETS and to listen for queues to enter and hit whatever you needed to. Once more, it was a very lovely squad, and I hope if I'm again involved next year, I'll manage my time more to keep uploading contents to my channel. Thanks friend. Your recommendation was truly a blessing.

Comic Fiesta 2018
WHOOSH~ Honestly, I was prepared to let go this year's due to how much work I needed to catch up on due to my CO involvement. However, after seeing lots of people sharing their photos online, having a few friends asking me if I was gonna attend it, I finally made the decision on Saturday night to attend CF 2018 on Sunday (the immediate following day). And thankfully I found a seller online who was selling of the early bird ticket at the same original price, and was granted entry into the venue without having to wait to buy the ON-SITE TICKETS. It saved me SO MUCH TIME, that I managed to have a photo with lovely cosplayer: Ying Tze!!

Woooahhhh NICE PIZZZASSSSSS
I didn't really know what I really wanted to do there, since I attend conventions to be one with the atmosphere where all weebs and all unite for the weekend. I passed by a Clazroom booth (?) and was lucky enough to be in time to purchase a couple of postcards (?) and a file (altogether were RM15! O_O What a bargain!) to have them signed by Ying Tze herself, and of course SO DAMNED LUCKKY to be the LAST PERSON in line to have her sign the merchandises before she had to return to her actual booth where her followers/fans/supporters/friends were already lining up to purchase her more luxurious products like her photobook, posters, and the likes. Damn if I had more of a bigger budget to spend, I could have supported more of the cosplayers I follow online like Ely, Mon and Angie~ but yea poor me and poor pockets make me a poor excuse for a loyal supporter haha. So what did I do? I simply snapped some shots as I made my way through the crowded hall to find where their booths were located.
There's the kawaii Mon~

There's the elegant Ely...

That's  fabulous Angie. An unfortunate timing as a stranger extended his hand to take a pic with Siu Tao who was sharing the same booth with Angie >.<

Aww... So close yet so far...
I could take ages to explain how I got into anime, but I'll keep that for another time (or had I already mentioned it sometime ago?). TLDR: I am very very amazed by their artistic prowess. They make their costumes so true to the anime characters, and I have so much trouble staying true to the essence of the anime OSTs I arrange. I really wish I can improve better, and make better music. Perhaps one day they'll notice me? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH DREAM BOI KEEP DREAMING.

OHH speaking of artist prowess, check out this Reinhardt cosplay!

Geez what a suit!
I don't play Overwatch, but damned, this was wayyyyyyy tooo cool to not have a picture with the fella. Its so awesome! One of the event crew filmed him after giving him some instructions on how to walk as the cameraman panned his way around him to get a good 360 view of the entire suit. Freaking awesome! You deserve to win the cosplay competition if you participated in it.

As for some memorabilia for the event, I bought some DiTF pin badges, and a must have Attack on Titan shirt whew! All for less than RM80. (The shirt was the most expensive stuff I got, but its the standard price for other stalls as well. I went around comparing prices and they were all in the same range of RM50-RM60 for a simple shirt. RM100 for a hoodie sort of jacket.)

Yea. One anime taught me bravery and perseverance, and one reminded me of the time I had in the UK.

Ohh and this too!

Diz biggg Eevee plushie for RM40!!
Hhehehe the Eevee was from a lucky roll sort of game. It was RM40 a roll for a chance to win AT LEAST 2 small plushies, or 1 BIG boi. Since it was kinda more worth it compared to other stalls, my friend and I decided to roll one each and he got a Pikachu while I got an Eevee heheh.

That's quite about how much I spent: a good RM150 for some items that I could appreciate having. Though it was kinda bummer I didnt actually get to fully support Angie and the other cosplayers, I was satisfied enough with having these 2 badges:

HAHAHAHAHAHA by now I've given myself away as some fanboi of Angie LUL
Well, I believe there's no shame in showing support responsibly, and that you don't simply pour out cash for your idols. It all comes down to spending responsibly in the best way you can. The upper badge was the first badge from Ying Tze which I bought in 2016 during Animangaki. I still kept it until that day to pin in on my bag to CF. It kinda reminds me of the first experience being in an anime convention, and it truly was one of the best first experience's in the realm of anime. Surrounded by anime fans and friends, it was truly a memorable event. As for this year's CF, it was enjoyable as the bro/friend joined me shortly after I arrived, and we spent cash together and also had some time to watch some stage events before I went back early to attend to some business.

Oh MERRY CHRISTMAS too! It's Christmas for 2018 as I'm typing this line~

Hope to have more fun next year in CF 2019!

疑心病 钢琴 Yi Xin Bing Piano Arrangement

Finally, the post related to the corresponding video! 疑心病 钢琴 Yi Xin Bing Piano Arrangement

This song was requested by Gary Ng (hello~) some time ago when I was still in the UK (my goodness, that's truly a VERY LONG Delay O_O). I've managed to squeeze some hours everyday to try and make it a good recording, and I'm quite satisfied with the results. It's slightly neater (to me), but somehow my Midi device didn't pick up the dynamics that were finer through the piece. Well Gary I hope you like it, and there will be sheets prepared too!

Hang tight for my sheets as exams are coming and I haven't finished revising!!!!!

Click it to watch it!!!! PLS!

Make sure to click the sub button and bell to receive instant update on my future posting. Thanks for reading this post, and I've just reached 600 subs some weeks ago, and 1k subs doesn't seem too far now. Thanks again for all the support on my channel! I wish to improve further, and become a version of myself who can strongly call myself a pianist, which I now do not have the rights to call myself as one.

Thank you again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

FOOD FANTASY 食之契约

HEYYYYY

I've recently started playing a newly released mobile game called Food Fantasy.

As weird as it sounds, it's really weird. You get to summon all these food stuffs called Food Souls to run your restaurant without having them being eaten, put them into teams and fight alongside you. It's kinda like Fate/Stay Night, as they also talk about contracts and all lol.

I normally don't play such mobile games, but in light of supporting the cosplayers that I follwed online who were part of the project, I decided to download Food Fantasy and give it a try.

The OST or background music was the one that caught my attention. It was plain simple, yet so soothing and calming. Kinda like the music in Cerobi Steppe in Final Fantasy XII. It's just so relaxing to listen to it. I'd launch the game on my tab, and leave on my keyboard as I played the song.

Well guess I'm kinda hooked to it now haha.

And this will be the last video I will be making with my lovely Korg B1. It has accompanied me since January 2018, and now as I prepare to head back home to my home country, I have to find it a proper owner,  which I have. Hopefully, Korgi will find happiness there, and bring happiness to its new owner...

Here is the video for the homepage background music or OST (whichever you wish to call it): Gloriville. Enjoy!

PS: I haven't played far, and you can add me as friend! My in game name is ..... DranosJynx, while my ID is 218286 . Let's play together!!

Darling in the FranXX ED 6 - Darling

Hey there.

I know it's been over for awhile now, but I am still working on the OSTs haha ... WHoops. Talk about PepeHands haha

Well I worked together with Avant Garde from YouTube on this arrangement, and I honestly LOVE it. He enriched my first draft and made it sound SO GOOD. Like REAL GOOD.

So for this blog post I'll put both videos here as Darling in the FranXX has officially ended. Quite a bittersweet ending . *Sniffles*

It wasn't until some time after DiTF ended that I realized, the only solid proof of Squad 13 being together was... destroyed. I'm crying....

Thank you Darling. I've enjoyed it~

I still have Hitori to do!! Then I would have fulfilled my New Year's Resolution! Look out for it!

Jay Chou 周杰伦 Bu Ai Wo Jiu La Dao 不爱我就拉倒 If You Don't Love Me, It's Fine.

If you don't want me, it's ok...
If you don't love me, it's fine...
It's not like I am unwanted anyway...

Hi all.

It has been a while. How's you doing? I've just finished my exams, and finally I can make my videos again without much worries~

It has been a rather long time since I had a Chinese song to work with. I've been playing anime related songs because IM A WEEEBBBBBB~

But yeah, I find anime songs teach me a lot of techniques, and I enjoy picking one or two from those that I played. I still find interesting progressions in old anime songs which is always a wonderful thing.

But my anime works don't seem to be working out for me haha, soo I've been thinking of infusing both JPop elements with MandoPop ones. And Jay Chou's 不爱我就拉倒 has enough room for expansion!

Other than this, I still have the sheets to work on, and I am looking forward to practicing more pieces to hopefully, develop my own 风格 of playing.

Till then, here is the corresponding video for this corresponding post:

PS: The female lead in the MV is so pretty~

WHAT IS AN INFLUENCER?

The word or term has been popping around for a few months now, ever since I saw a post whereby a Singaporean Influencer posted a photo of her with bombastic words. CRINGE is all I can say reading that paragraph that would make the God of Sickness SICK ( if there was one. But you get the idea. ) I would like to give a name, but I've forgotten already and am too lazy to search for it.

So it seems like Taylors University is going the extra mile of rewarding "Young Influencers", aka young people about the age of 18-19, the age when you enrol into pre-university education level with scholarships. How are they judged? On the popularity of their social media.

You read that right. By the number of their followers online, be it on Facebook or Instagram.

Realizing the trend in youngsters setting out to post glamorous photos, Taylor's management is trying to keep up with the modern age of digital sharing and promoting other means to be successful other than being excellent in studies. This issue has raised a few eyebrows and let me share my thoughts about this "Reward" on being "femes", and what INFLUENCER means to me. So grab your seats, and listen, cuz this gonna be edgy and triggering. Oh don't like what I'm saying? Well, you see the cross button on the top right of your browser? CLICK IT. This is my space, and you are not obliged to read this post because there's no video to it and no sheets to it. Even if there is, you can still ignore this post...

Let us begin.

The world has changed. Words have had their meanings changed. It doesn't take a scholar to know how different the world is right now. But I am NOT SPEAKING about physical changes in the world. That is too obvious to miss. The CHANGE I'm talking about is the values the world emphasizes now in this age. At least a decade ago, the world still had classical values to success: You work hard, you earn! You work the HALAL way, you will be blessed. I am no different in believing it. I always had believed it. Anyone who worked hard deserved success. Anybody who has put in effort gets the reward. But let me tell you this: THIS IS NOW A LIE. Anyone who tells you this, given a suitable amount of conscience and knowledge, isn't telling you the truth (Unless that person treats you like a child and wants to preserve your innocence until the world ultimately takes it away from you. ) The world is no longer like that. No matter how much effort you put, YOU ARE NOT GUARANTEED SUCCESS EVEN IF YOU PUT EFFORT. Another value relevant to the issue of INFLUENCER is this: Don't judge a book by its cover. Resounding familiarity. You never should judge anyone by their looks. Such were values the world our parents lived swore to. They worked their assess off so we can live comfortably. Their effort in raising in us will define the way we grow up. It is no wonder that parents nowadays would say they have trouble understanding their children. This is because the world itself has changed! Coloured TVs were such an exclusivity back in their days, while today it has become something everyone ought to have. The main point I'm trying to bring about is the world didn't just change physicallly (global warming, pollution, human possessions like the riches you have in your house etc); the core values that were once the epitome of human behavior teaching are SLOWLY DYING OFF in the age where everything, or most of everything, is becoming like this:

Let me ask you a question: If you picture yourself as a dog, wouldn't it be appropriate if I treated you like one?

Now I will try to convey why I think Taylor's College doing of this INFLUENCER scholarship thing isn't going to do ANY GOOD to future kids.

1) Materialism
The scholarship awards you based on the number of followers you have. This indirectly gives the idea that you being the center of attraction is going to do you good. How? The most straightforward idea is that you would have to LOOK GOOD. You have to look good on camera to have good pictures and will make people salivate for you. Does this not mean materialism? If you are indeed skillful in any sort of art or sport, the results will tell the story. This is still acceptable as it is in line with classical ideas of success: train hard work hard and reap hard. You don't need looks to ask people to notice you. However, the "Young Influencer Award" bla bla bla sort of thing will give the impression that all you need is LOOKS to succeed... OMG. Please don't. The world needs less of this sort of cancer. LOOKS IS NOT EVERYTHING KIDS! Spending money on cosmetics and all at such a young age? What are you doing? Being 14 tryin to look 22? Build your follwers from young? *facepalm* Kids seriously. Materialism is not good. Spending so much on products Gucci or those expensive slippers i don't even recall their names, Nike and all... Sigh, I'm no parent to you, but if I had spent whatever money i had on those stuffs. my family would consider me to be one or a few of the things: DISGRACE, and DISAPPOINTMENT and DISHONOR.

2) Bimbo over results?
Sure, not everyone can score those A+ and As like as if they were like eating cookies. It is difficult. It is harsh. Sit through lessons from 8 to 5pm, later with tuition lessons, yes. it is grueling. It is painful. I remembered nearly failing my Add Maths in F4, then seeked helped from tuition which helped ALOT. So I had 11 subjects: all the 9 standard Science Subjects and Accounting, and English Literature (EL). Prior to tuition, I had trouble with Accouting, Add Maths, and Chem? In the end, I took tuition for Physics, Chem, Add Maths and Accounting. And it was tiring. I had issues with sejarah too cuz it was just soo DDDRRRYYYYYY......

With the Influencer scholarship, kids are given the option to powder themselves to look attractive or kewl to gain followers, and can opt to neglect their studies. PLEASE STOP! Your high school years are precious! Do you not realize how fun primary school was when you graduated from your Primary school? I'd give anything to go back in time to fix those embarassing mistakes i made then! Having an idea to be an Influencer is not healthy. You will only think of how to gain followers while not building your intellectual capabilities. If all you think is "Oh I want dat hat it looks dope", "Oh i want that dress it looks so insta worthy", "Oh hey I wanna smoke/vape/ to look cool" etc etc, you need to take a step back, and look back into your primary school days. If the world is going to end up taking your innocence away, why not preserve it as long as possible? You might not ask for toys or stuffs anymore at that age of 13 or 14, but you could ask your parents to invest in skills that could help you so much more like Coding, how to use Photoshop, presentation workshops and all. Those skills help wayyyyyy much more than just tryin to look pretty. Sigh, if I had to name a source of where I think these sort of Influencer things came about, I got to say it has to be K Pop. Young, attractive and sexy and cool. It appeals to youngsters... Even I was a fan of KPop: Girls Generation, Wonder Girls, Miss A, Big Bang, Super Junior... I didn't go deep into the fandom, and fast forward a few years later when I discovered how Anime music felt so much more developed and how strongly it resonated in me, I eventually discarded my taste for KPop. No offense I do enjoy solos like Tae Yang's Eyes Nose Lips, Taeyeon's Rain which I made a cover of too. But in the end, I didn't do much Korean songs. Only occasionally when a drama OST catches my attention, then I'll make an arrangement for it. But coming back, K Pop was the turning point for world culture. It promoted LOTS of dope and fancy fashion lines which eventually made their way to instagrams by the fans who support such industries! Support your biases I'd say, but is it really necessary to use looks to succeed? Is it really what the stars wanted to? Let me ask you this: were the K Pop stars good looking first or had good skills first that got them into where they are now? What were the rumours that KPop idols were always facing?

If you'd like to give LOOK >>> RESULTS, then I seriously worry about the future of Malaysia in technical and economical developments. All looks and no brains, our Wawasan 2020 already in jeopardy, what more of the future visions to make Malaysia a better home for Malaysians.

3) Pollution
Image this: all fashionable clothes die out in popularity over time. Where do they go? They are dumped! This is called the Beauty Industry Pollution. Already there have been efforts to reduce the effects of fast paced clothing fashion pollution, this Influencer scholarship is going to negate those efforts by a huge margin. It won't be a surprise, if other universities or countries start adopting Taylors' idea of Influencer scholarship. Should it happen, fast paced clothing industries will do all they can to cater to fahsion hungry youngsters to make them look good (again, to look good). This will only increase the toll on Earth as we struggle to find landfills to dispose our trash! Where else are we gonna make space for future trash? Clothing cannot be recycled so easily. Bright looking clothing are made using A **** ton of dye, bleaching them to white makes the pollution worse. Any more??

Finally, I think I've reached the end of this rant. Whether or not you want to believve it, this Taylors' stuff is simply for no good. Change the name all they want, they cannot hide their intentions. Social advocates, bla bal bla What is the use of changing your face when the problem is within your heart?? Even the word talent is overused these days... Haih...

Well. I'm nobody in any scene. My blog title says it all. I ain't talented. If one day I were to be famous, I would NOT WANT TO BE TERMED AN INFLUENCER. If Influencer is part of being famous, I'd rather not be famous. What you kids wanna influence the society har? How you dreess how you pose? Let me share with u all these pictures I took in London where I spotted a really pattern couple.

You kids wanna pose like that? Laugh die me.

Anyway those are my 2 cents on the matter. Even if i become famous, I have nothing to influence. I don't wanna influence you with my old fashion sense, my insatiable enjoyment for bad puns, and the awkwardness in the photos I am in. I only have my skills to keep myself happy, and all i ask is for an audience who are willing to listen to my story through my arrangements. Thank you.

Buzzin out!
