Whoops looks like I'm starting to lose my discipline in 1-video-1-post rule...

Anyway, I've made a video which was requested, and it was for Akame Ga Kill OST - Sheele OST. Wew I managed to do it in time before I had to leave the piano for good for the remaining year!

Well I could have managed this posting much better but I was in a hurry to get things done and prepare for my travel to France and Brussels I completely forgot about the blog post.

TLDR; I managed to do a last recording, went to travel, enjoyed myself VERY MUCH, and spent a snowy Christmas with my sister, and I'm back home at my flat to.... STUDY FOR MY EXAMS!!!!

Oh and Fate/Apocrypha just aired its last episode. I've caught up with some episodes, and approaching the end already. It was a nice anime, an enjoyable one indeed, and I know I'll get a little bit sentimental after watching the final episode ... Sob sob...

So here's to another good YouTube journey year for 2018, and thank you for 400 subs. I really hope to be an icon for Anime-Mandarin piano arrangements, and my new year resolution is to MEMORIZE ALL OF MY ANIME ARRANGEMENTS!

Hi all. LONG POST.

Pardon my tone in the previous post. I had to take some time to look back at my channel and think through how I want to proceed. And glad to say that after a week of thinking, I've finally come to terms with my beginnings and what I've been through, and decided that my channel will be specially dedicated to tell of my musical exposure, my dreams of improvement, and how I would like to feel satisfied with what I;m doing.

The Kid From The Big Apple 2 just premiered last Thursday, and so did Justice League, so it was somewhat downplayed by Justice League hype... Meh, hopefully it didn;t take too much attention away from our local production!

Anyway, The Kid From The Big Apple aired last year, and here it is the sequel! I can still remember clearly when I was making the arrangement for 小天地，the theme for The Kid From The Big Apple, and how that was the catalyst for me to start making sheets. Looking back , I literally wrote those sheets by hand, i took some manuscript paper, and drew all the bar lines, timing and all the taugeh for it XD. Wasn't very efficient at it btw...

Then I started sharing it on my YouTube channel. I guess since it was really touching (I mean the movie) , people just got attracted to the song. And from there on, I personally sent countless emails to people asking for my sheets, and I was really happy! People liked my sheets, even though they were so simple! I used to think that complicated sheets would garner more attention, since they would sound far more fantastic. But here, my simple sheets where anyone could play, and people liked it...

It wasn't long after that I then made sheets on a consistent basis. Be it Chinese songs by Jay Chou or Eric Chou, anime sheets which came later... I found it a joy that I could be of service to a community. 

But in my search for improvement in which I tried playing K Pop, Eng Pop and other stuff to try and improve, I was actually neglecting my Chinese song listeners... I didn't realize it. Not until lately. 

I mentioned this in the past profusely that I promise to improve. It is still my promise. The only difference is: I've now got a focus. Me being on YouTube isn't about trying to boast what I can do. Alongside improving my musical skills, I want to make sheets/music that people will listen to. I want to be of good use to a community. Ultimately, I wish to be accepted by that community, and perhaps be with the Big Boys on Youtube like Ray Mak... at least be known within my country. And that, brought me back from my arduous journey of self searching...

I will now dedicate my channel to my past, as Ive grew up listening to Mando Pop, my present: I'm sooooo into Anime, and my future: YOU. My channel will serve to provide music resources for those 2 genres, for those who have subscribed to me. (Cuz come on, you won't stick around a channel which is not your taste.)

A note: I didnt get to bring my big gun camera that I used to use for recordings, since it was kinda in the way of my stuff.... so I settled for a smaller gun camera, so video resolution wont be that great...

I'm kinda frustrated right now...

I really hope to have some interaction in my channel... otherwise it really feels as though... I'm just playing for myself... My loathsome self...

New Place, New Way of Life

Feels ages since my last update here...

Recap on what has happened:
I'm already on an exchange program for a year, so right now I'm still doing my YouTube things =) Though it's a bit more of a challenge to carry it out.

I should have actually made a post for my previous vlogging vid. Wonder why I never did..

Technically, other than a few photos to show this new beautiful place I'm in, there's nothing more to them. Just head over to my instagram if u wanna see those pics~

After so long, I've managed to touch a grand piano, and practice on it... The feeling of it is so surreal. Immensely wonderful. As promised, I have made Fate/Apocrypha ED Full Desir already. I was a little tense when recording it since I've practically never touched an analog piano for ages. IT WAS JUST SO GOOD.

So yep~ I'll still be doing what I used to be, and I hope to see you again.

Alright so here're some news.

My time has come to leave for my exchange program. ( I mentioned this some time ago...  Anybody remembered lol ?) And I'll be away from my home country for about a year. 

I am a nobody, but I am really wishing to be somebody. A "somebody" in which I can be happy as. Cliché af, but I wanna continue practicing/playing anime songs. I could do more Chinese songs for my Chinese listeners too, in fact I should... Ooops.

Anyway, I've come to a point in my music development where I cannot stop doing what I'm doing on YouTube. 

Yea sure Im just one of the small fries small fish in the net, and my vids aren't getting much attention. But some how, whenever I'm done with an anime song, even if it goes quite poorly in the views, I still feel accomplished, something that most other genres just won't give.  Repeatedly doing this eventually made me realize that I want, and I love, to play anime music. And I wanna keep doing it.

I want to continue regardless, because it is the only way to realize my dream of going on this YouTube journey, a dream that only recently I realized I want it very badly. 

A dream to be my country's BEST ANIME PIANIST. 

I want that. I really want that. Even if I cannot achieve international fame, at the very least, let me be a jaguh kampung. 

At least, I want to be great on the soil that I was born on.

My Last Sheets...

Hey fam!

I've been busy catching with my sheets for the past week, and I have managed to finish all my sheets that I said I would make. In total I finished 3 sets of sheets, and it's a triple whammy this time!

1) Koe No Katachi ED - Koe Wo Shita No Wa 

A rather straight forward song, it just might be a little long. Very original to the actual ending.

2) Koe No Katachi OST - lit

Oh, I experimented a bit on adding more runs to this piece, and I'd say it turned out rather well! ^^|||

3) Boku No Hero Academia OP 1 - THE DAY

****, this is my favourite sheet. Exactly the way I wanted, and a very SATISFYING WORK!! 10/10 pls~ However I couldn't note the ending very well cuz of the software limitation... You'll see in the sheets what I mean. 

Unfortunately I couldn't get the feelings right for YOU CAN BE A HERO, a song that I will play when the conditions are right... =(((((

So my next work will be Désir, Fate Apocrypha ED instead.  =D

Holy shieeettttt. Boku Hero Academia is ONE GOOD STUFF. IT is reallly good stuff. Oh shieeett my fanboying still isn't dead. The slapsticks, the funny moments all had me in stitches~ 

This was HILARIOUS. 

Boku Hero Academia, or My Hero Academia, why did I not watch you earlier? It's so goodddd...

Anyway, I've finished catching with the series until the latest episode, and now I'm just waiting for the rest of series to finish. In the meantime, I've started watching Fate/Apocrypha and I gotta say, tis Fate series has quite a weird way of dealing with their Servants. Worry not, ain't gonna be spoilers here. 

Back to My Hero Academia... Oh man the feels were real. It was just into 2 episodes then everything just got leaky. So anime has worked its magic again. Hey I still cry a bit everytime I watch that scene. 

So it's late again, out of hype already and tons of people have already done their own arrangements. Here's my humble arrangement for Boku Hero Academia My Hero Academia Season 1 Opening - THE DAY.

Another forgotten post after my last video zzz

OK I'M HERE!

My last video was Lit, an OST from Koe No Katachi.

I called that "The Tune of Redemption". 

Why?

Well, I could relate to it in terms of owing up to mistakes that have been made, and also feel that my struggles now could be the result of my not owing up to some mistakes I committed when I was younger. Who knows? Karma is real after all...

It's really a heartwarming anime, the feels and all. Just watch it. It'll be worth your time.

PLUS, my next video will see me GOING BEYOND, and PLLLLUUSSSSS ULLLLTRRRAAAAA!!!!!

A Silent Voice.

Looks like I haven't been really following my 'one-video-one-post' scheme hehe...

Apart from Eromanga Sensei and I Want Summer (Jay Chou) sheets I made last week, I also made an arrangement for Koe No Katachi ED - Koe Wo Shita No Wa .

Koe No Katachi... One of the few animes that even non anime fans ought to watch. You don't have to be into anime to watch this, you just need to have a heart. Feel the emotions, feel the hardships, feel the struggles. After all, watching anime is all about feeling and relating to the characters. Comparing this to Kimi No Nawa ( Your Name ), I'd say I prefer Koe No Katachi. 

I had really wanted to watch it when it was released, but I just didn't have the time to juggle between studies, making videos, and watching anime. T_T. Glad to say I made time for myself and I finally managed to watch it.

Watching it reminds me that karma will always come back. Whether you've done bad things in the past or now, it will eventually come back to you. The anime was simply wonderful. 

You gotta watch it. You just have to. Koe No Katachi. Remember the name~

Eromanga Sensei OP... Too OP

Kinda sad I still lack the time to binge watch my anime series... =(

Ever since I was on summer break, I only managed to watch Eromanga Sensei, one of the 15 series I downloaded before I came back XD.

My verdict about it? Watch it with discretion and make sure to lock the doors!! It isn't anything bad, and it's not 18+, but there surely are WTF and in my opinion inappropriate parts, especially towards the end of the series. But hey, I was laughing most of the time since the 1st episode! It was really fun to watch how Masamune trying to get Sagiri out of the room, and the minor innuendos just made the series even more enjoyable~

Given her antics, I guess I would blow up if she's so demanding in terms of meal times...
But this scene is rather amusing XD

I could relate to Eromanga Sensei to so many things personally. Masamune starting off his dreams of being an author early, chasing his dreams since young (unlike me sadly...), not giving shit even though nobody reads his first material, and having a 'fan' to interact with, his struggles to compete with Yamada and Muramasa, and seeing his work being published and his readers looking forward to read his work etc... 

All I can say is that, I too, wish to be noticed. But as I've said before, I've got to improve. I've got to prove myself worthy of the attention. I've got miles to go. And I won't stop even though knowing out there there are much more talented people than I am (I've got no talents, remember? ;) ) . 

Eromanga Sensei taught me to keep going and keep sticking to your dreams, no matter the competition, because, somehow, if I can make a difference in anyone's life, I would say that I've done one of my many jobs to show how hard earned skills are much more superior to talent.

I do not wish to be seen as a talented person. However if I seem one to you, I thank you for believing in me. =)

I actually was on a holiday for the past weekend, and in my haste of preparing for the trip, I forgotten to follow up with a post. 

We went to a beach resort, courtesy of a travelling discount my parents got while I was away in uni. And it's been a very long time since I went to a beach resort, and it was fun =)

FINAL FANTASY XII: THE ZODIAC AGE

It feels SO GOOD to be playing FFXII again after so long!

It really brings back memories of the time when I used to play it on the PS2. It was one of my favourite games back then, together with Kingdom Hearts!

FFXII was my first FF game series. I didn't get the chance to play the previous series, and when I started FFXII, I was too young to understand the mechanics! I didn't get past mid game, and nearly wanted to throw the disc away cuz I just didn't know how to play XD

Good thing the disc was spared from any damage~

So I didn't touch FF until I was 11, then that was when I started figuring out how to play. Lel by then everything was easy to understand haahaa... And boi did I enjoy myself in it. I got myself the Guide Book and BOOM I beat the game when I was 12. FINALLY~ *VICTORY FANFARE* 

FFXII OTP

I was really hooked by the gameplay, and the soundtracks. The intro was the earliest heavenly tunes I've ever listened to at that age. The boss battles theme, the chocobo theme were one of the few iconic ones that I can remember striking an impression to me. And after so long, I finally managed to bring myself to play the signature theme of the Final Fantasy series. 

It's indeed one of the best FF games I've ever had, and screw them who say FFXII was a failure simply because of the different battle mechanics. BLEK

So here's my tribute to FFXII: The Zodiac Age's release to the PS4.

Yo! I'm back!

I'm finally back for summer break, and that means more time to play my piano and my GAMES!! OHHH AND MY ANIMUUUUU~

Well, not quite. I ain't that extreme... Yet? 

All things aside, it somehow feels ages since I last uploaded...

I'm kinda surprised as to why I didn't know about this Chicken Attack song until recently when I watched it on Facebook. Well, let's just say I didn't plan out any songs to play yet, so I jumped and decided to add this into my playlist.

And on another note, FFXII The Zodiac Age is HERE! OMG remember how one of my earliest posts was about myself? I talked about FFXII there~ And now it's out on the PS4!! Holy shite, its been ages since I last played it, and I'm SO LOOKING forward to assigning those classes! It's slightly different, but the changes are for the better~

Hey all!

I got a request to do the sheets for Eric Chou's song again, and this time its for 跟钢琴说话。One thing that surprises me is that Eric's songs are rather hard to get the sheets for online. He's already so well known, but his songs are not that easy to the sheets... 

Among his songs that I've made the sheets for, I believe this would be my favorite piece. The title itself is something literal that I often do myself, and I find it a norm if a musician "talks” to the instrument of his choice no?

The lyrics bring a lot of meaning to appreciate, and I guess it's kinda like the story of my life. 

Kinda happy to have had this requested. The song is beautiful. 

And to answer the question, I would practice my pieces, indulge in some anime (HEHEHEHEHEHE I'VE GOT SOME LIST TO WATCH AHAHAHAHAHAHAH IM SUDDENLY TRIGGERED!!!! ), and probably learn some new languages.

I might be changing my uploads a bit, cuz making a video every week has some shortcomings, and not to mention it might make the video rather crappy. This isn't set yet. I'm thinking of it, but might not change anything in the end...  AND, my video editor seems to be bugging out on me =(

Aw man some things just are hard to change... As I was making the recording, I just couldn't help the 'rush' within. Haih... while in the end its not too bad, but its really sickening that I'm still struggling with timing issues. Grrr...

Sheets will be ready anyway, so as a form of compensation, do look forward to it. It won't be too hard, since 永不失联的爱 ( Yong Bu Shi Lian De Ai ) is a rather slow and simple song, with lots of feelings in it.

Hey fam~ How's it going?

Remember how the last post I sounded so down? I'll break some details here.

To make things short, I applied for an exchange program but wasn't shortlisted despite fulfilling the grades, and the worst part of it is it was only my department that had such a small quota of 5 eligible students, while I was 6th/7th on the list. 

Thinking about it, I was quite eager to be accepted, so when I got the email, it took me some time to let the reality sink in, something that I think is good in a way that I don't react to disappointing moments immediately. So subsequently my days were rather.... sore. A few of my friends had asked if I was successful, and when I told them, it was this line that tugged the really sore string inside: "You can apply again next year.", “明年再申请过。”... While I firmly believe that is more or less the only acceptable reply in response to my situation, I felt as though that sentence reflected a lot on the unseen forces that make us who we are, and hence, I didn't feel good at all. 

I'm already trying to make this YouTube effort work, and I don't need other factors to tell me I'M NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I've had enough of things telling me indirectly that I'm not good enough. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH. 

So instead of doing nothing at all, I decided to go against the norm, and appealed. I sent out some emails, met with my tutor bla bla bla.... I figured that it was easier to fight for my chance than to wait to apply for another year, because who knows what other commitments will show up the next year. 

So fast forward 2 weeks, I got a call from the International Office, and voila~ My Head Of Department managed to get extra place for exchanging students, and I was one of them. =)

So technically, the dust is over and I'm back from the dark days. 

But truthfully, I was about to accept my fate after my last email, and decided that if I'm to be denied entirely, I will be denied entirely. There's no half rejection of sorts, and I was gonna just accept that fact. But, guess some things are worth fighting for.

So here's the catch of this exchange: It'll be for a year. And I might not be able to find a piano there for my YouTube activities.... 

BUT again, I'm not going to let some factors such as this affect my promise. I will find a way to have my piano with me, be it a keyboard or a digital piano, as long as I can continue my efforts in making materials. OR I can find other materials to make? Who knows? I might turn into a comedian for a year! 

So one of the 2 songs that kept me busy during those days is this lovely Chinese song by Bell 宇田, and it's called 蝌蚪, literally "Tadpole". And also another anime song which I have always wanted to play. (It'll be a secret for now...)

Also, I'll be launching my new site soon as my Sheet Archive, since Google Docs just doesn't seem neat enough. 

So until then, I will return to making videos each week since its already SUMMER BREAK!!.... after my last paper on the 30th of May~ 

I hope to have your continual support. Thank you for 300 subs~

I've made sheets again, and this time its really thanks to Martin who requested for it~ I really didn't plan on making it, but hey, as long as someone asks for it, and its a reasonable piece to do, I'll gladly do it! 

So Martin, if you're ever here again, know that the sheets were made specially for you. Thank you for the request, it made me feel a little better at the time I saw your comment (albeit it was kinda late. Sorry about that ^^|||).

On the video description, I guess you can probably read it off, but I guess saying it here again won't hurt. In summary, making these sheets kinda brought me to another way of thinking about giving to "society". Initially, I was just thinking all about "if the song is manageable, than I'll do it." While this really is the case, its really just centering on me... Not those who come to my channel. I was thinking about if there's so many SAO sheets out there, why do it again? In the end, it's not me who matters. IT'S YOU. Making sheets isn't so much as to whether I can make them or not, but is more on my COMMITMENT to you. And that was the thought that got me through the few tough days before this posting. I was making sheets, and feeling awful at the same time, but thinking of making sheets as a form of COMMITMENT is a compulsion strong enough to have me keep doing the sheets despite my condition. After all, COMMITMENT IS A WHOLE HEARTED DISCIPLINE, NOT AN EMOTION BASED DECISION. 

As of now, the highest COMMITMENT I can give to you is to make sheets for the works I've done. Yes, it also depends on my availability, but more so on my efforts to GIVE TO SOCIETY, and my SOCIETY is of 200 people strong (uh...ok... I guess community should be more fitting a word, but society fits the context better...) If I can at least provide the sheets when they come to my channel, or this blog, than I would feel that I've done something for the community. And that is all I need to know...

So in all, I place my COMMITMENT into giving the best effort I can to help those who need it, and also into improving my production. This is my PROMISE.

So comes April...

Quite a roller coaster ride it has been recently~

Attack On Titan Season 2 was released (FINALLY) early this month, and guess I wasn't too late for the hype this time hehe ^^""

I could have done this earlier, but I had a camp over the weekend on the 7th - 9th of April, which effectively took out my practice time. BUT all well's over and done with, and since it's just TV size, I managed to get it done the following week~

Thinking back, that camp was much of great fun. It was a business simulation theme camp, and it was the first I've ever joined. Initially when the marketing team was promoting it to me, I didn't give much attention to it, since it was gonna take up 3 days of time. But... things happened, and I joined the camp with another friend of mine. 2 main reasons: I wanted to experience something new, and also because I wanted to get closer to... a certain someone >///< . 

WELP I'm not gonna spill anymore beans in case she finds out this blog and that's gonna be awkward for me haha.
